Get Celeb Worthy Glowing Skin with a Green Drink

The green smoothie recipe taking over the world

Want the exact green drink recipe celebrities use to get glowing skin? Or to spring cleanse and detox? It’s one and the same.

Green drinks are so commonplace these days, talking about their benefits is almost an afterthought. But after seeing yet another article in yet another magazine touting the benefits of this one specific smoothie, we had to revisit the healthy little gems. Namely, Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie. Kerry Washington names it specifically in the latest Marie Claire, and we listed the celebs who also enjoy this one particular smoothie—like preggers Fergie and Josh Duhamel, preggers-again Drew Barrymore, newly-engaged Olivia Wilde, preggers Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum, new dad Owen Wilson—in our last green drinks article (click here).

Here’s the step-by-step, available in visual form on Kimberly Snyder’s website here

The Glowing Green Smoothie

Ingredients
2 cups water
1/2 head organic spinach
1 head organic romaine
juice of half an organic lemon
3 or 4 organic celery stalks
1 organic banana
1 organic pear
1 organic apple

Make the Glowing Green Smoothie:

Step One: Fill the blender with 2 cups of water, add spinach and romaine and blend until smooth.

Step Two: Add celery, apple, pear, and herbs (if using) and blend again until smooth.

Step Three: Add lemon juice and banana, and do your last blend.

Step Four: Pour and eat fresh!

Snyder recommends you start with 16 ounces of the smoothie and work your way up to 24 ounces. We like the recipe because you can blend—no juicer required! Plus, we love that Snyder says: “The advantage of making a big batch like this one is time and convenience. Unlike juice, the Glowing Green Smoothie will keep in your refrigerator, as long as it’s covered, for about two and a half days … You can also freeze portion sizes of it in glass containers and thaw out the night before…”

Healthy, quick, and conveneient? No wonder celebs all love this green drink!
